Cavas from Unión Vinícola del Este (UVE), Valencia
Cava, a high quality sparkling wine, is Spain’s answer to champagne. (European law classifies champagne as being wine that comes from the Champagne region in France). However, cava is produced by the same traditional method with a secondary fermentation of the wine in the same bottle in which it is sold. The bubbles form naturally thereby producing finer, more persistent bubbles than by other methods (i.e. adding C02 to a still wine). It is also different from Prosecco where the second fermentation takes place in a big tank and not in the bottle like champagne or cava.
UVE has a fantastic range of award winning cavas and there is one to match everyone’s tastebuds.
During the Lifestyle show in Calpe we will be offering chilled glasses of Vega Medien BRUT and Vega Medien ROSÉ cavas for 0.99 cents a glass. And we will be easy to spot as we’ll be serving the cavas from the side of our Vega Medien truck; a 1920’s vintage style Fleur de Lys in the Outside Showcase Garden Area - same area as the Costa Cook Off!
